In December, the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry continued its systematic efforts to develop and support enterprises in the industry, engage with government agencies, and implement initiatives aimed at stimulating production activity and expanding cooperation.
KEY EVENTS OF THE MONTH
December 5
A regular meeting of the Coordination Council was held under the chairmanship of Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, systemic issues related to the development of the machine-building industry were discussed, including the progress of the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Machine Building for 2024–2028 and the results of the work carried out by the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry in 2025.
December 5
A number of enterprises participating in the Association were awarded the “Altyn Sapa” Prize of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the “Paryz” National Prize, and the “Isker” Prize. The awards confirmed the high quality of the enterprises’ products, the effectiveness of their management decisions, and their social responsibility.
December 11
Yerkhanat Makanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry, participated in a meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development, and Entrepreneurship of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, proposals and recommendations were reviewed that had been formulated following a roundtable discussion in the city of Saran, Karaganda Region, dedicated to issues of the machine-building industry’s development.
December 18
A meeting of the Committee on Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking of the Presidium of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan was held, chaired by Meyram Prshembayev, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry.
The meeting participants heard a report on the results of the Committee’s activities for 2025, as well as the progress of the Comprehensive Development Plan for the Machine-Building Industry for 2024–2028.
In addition, Yerkhanat Makanov was elected chairman of the Committee on Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking of the Presidium of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan “Atameken” at the meeting.
December 23
Meiram Pshembaev, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry, participated in a roundtable discussion on supporting and developing domestic manufacturers, organized by the national company “QazaqGaz.”
During the event, off-take contracts and agreements were signed between QazaqGaz subsidiaries and enterprises that are members of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry.
December 29
At a meeting of the Board of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry, the results of the implementation of the AKMI’s work plan for 2025 were reviewed, and key areas of activity and priorities for 2026 were approved.
WORK WITH REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES
Four meetings were held in December to discuss key topics and issues:
1. The current status of the implementation of the Register of Kazakhstani Manufacturers.
2. The project to construct the first integrated gas chemical complex in the Atyrau Region and the mechanism for domestic manufacturers to participate in its implementation.
3. Presentation of the activities of Miami SOLAR LLP.
4. Presentation of the activities of Astana Weighing Plant LLP.
5. Presentation of the activities of the PLM Ural Group of Companies.
6. Information on the work carried out by the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry in 2025.
COOPERATION WITH GOVERNMENT, QUASI-GOVERNMENT, AND OTHER AGENCIES
1. In cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, work is underway to resolve a number of outstanding issues and to ensure the practical launch of the Register of Kazakhstani Manufacturers.
2. Cooperation continues with the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy on issues related to the involvement of domestic manufacturers in the implementation of nuclear power plant construction projects.
3. Working meetings were held with the management of JSC “NC “KTZ,” during which issues of cooperation, the signing of a memorandum of cooperation, the formation of a product pool for import substitution, as well as procurement needs for 2026 were discussed. KTZ JSC sent AKMI a list of products subject to import substitution for further review.
4. A meeting was held with the management of “Telecom Komplekt,” a subsidiary of JSC “Kazakhtelecom,” during which an agreement was reached to continue joint efforts to expand the participation of domestic manufacturers—members of the Union—in the import substitution of products purchased by JSC “Kazakhtelecom” enterprises under the Program to Promote the Creation of New Manufacturing Facilities.
5. Cooperation with government agencies continues regarding the implementation of recommendations developed following the 12th Forum of Kazakhstan Machinery Manufactures. The recommendations cover a wide range of issues, including:
INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
On December 18, an online meeting was held between representatives of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry and the Machinery Manufacturing Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Erkanat Makanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry, and Talgat Bazarbekov, Director of the Association’s Executive Directorate, discussed with CCPIT representatives cooperation between machine-building enterprises in Kazakhstan and China, as well as the expansion of business ties.
As of December 2025, the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry had actively represented the interests of companies in the industry at the government and parliamentary levels, promoted the expansion of cooperative ties, and strengthened the position of the domestic machine-building industry in both domestic and foreign markets.
