On December 18, 2025, an online meeting was held between representatives of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry and the Machinery Industry Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

The talks were attended by Yerkhanat Makanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry, and Talgat Bazarbekov, Director of the Association’s Executive Directorate. The Chinese side was represented by Zhou Haiming, Vice President of the CCPIT Machinery Committee, and Leon Zhang, Executive Director of the Committee.

The main purpose of the meeting was to deepen practical cooperation between machine-building enterprises in Kazakhstan and China, expand business ties, and discuss prospects for implementing joint projects in industrial cooperation, production localization, and technology transfer.

During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in the systematic development of their partnership and agreed to sign a joint work plan for 2026–2027 within the framework of the previously signed memorandum of cooperation and collaboration. The work plan includes organizing B2B meetings, exchanging delegations, and facilitating companies’ entry into the markets of both countries.

Special attention was given to upcoming industry events. The Kazakhstani side provided information on the Forum of Kazakhstan Machinery Manufactures and the Kazakhstan Machinery Fair, an international specialized exhibition, which will take place in Astana on April 1–3, 2026. The Chinese side expressed interest in participating in these events and in attracting Chinese machinery manufacturing companies.

Following the meeting, the parties noted the high potential for Kazakh-Chinese cooperation in the machinery manufacturing industry and confirmed their readiness for further practical cooperation on an ongoing basis.
