The Board of Directors of JSC NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” announced the results of its activities for the first quarter of 2017.

Consolidated net income of the Company reached 26 billion tenge. On May 18th, the meeting of the Board of Directors of the company was held under the chairmanship of Askar Mamin, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC “NC” Kazakhstan Temir Zholy “.

On the meeting, the reports for the first quarter of 2017 were announced, which showed the preliminary results of the ongoing implementation of the Development Plan of JSC “NC” KTZh” for 2017-2021, the status of the ongoing implementation of major investment projects of the Company and provided information on the current status of the implementation of the Business Transformation Program.

Due to the increase in of export and import trafficking via internal railways in the first quarter of 2017, the turnover of goods reached the mark of around 50 billion tons, which is 14.5% higher than in the same period last year.

Due to increase in traffic volumes by 10%, transit growth reached 11%, compared to the previous year. Consolidated net income of the Company for the first quarter of 2017 reached 26 billion tenge.

The EBITDA amounted to 38.8 billion tenge, which exceeded the planned target by 1.4%. In comparison, to the same period of 2016, this figure increased by 8.1 billion tenge.

Within the framework of the Roadmap on implementation of the Business Transformation Program of JSC “NC” KTZh”, in the first quarter of 2017 the company completed works on 5 key pillars of a new management model for maintenance services, repair services for a rolling stock and railway infrastructure.

On the meeting, the Rules for the provision of Corporate Housing and add-ins to the Charter of KTZ Cargo Transportation JSC were approved.
