Technological modernization of economy under fourth industrial revolution — Pshembayev about the agenda of VI Forum of Machine Builders
Chairman of the Union of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan Meiram Pshembayev told about the purposes and tasks of the Sixth Forum of Machine Builders September 20 at a briefing in the press center of the Government.
The Sixth Forum of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan began September 20, 2018, in Astana. Theme of the Forum is "New Opportunities Under the Fourth Industrial Revolution."
Meiram Pshembayev noted that more than 1,000 delegates from 20 countries, such as the US, Germany, Italy, Russia, Turkey, China and others take part in the work of the Forum.
"From year to year, the forum participants grow in both quantitative and qualitative terms. The annual forum of machine builders of Kazakhstan has established itself as a unique platform with key players in the machine-building industry. The forum is of great importance and practical benefit for the business community in general, and the machine-building industry, in particular," Pshembayev emphasized.
Answering the questions from media, Pshembayev spoke about the introduction of elements of Industry 4.0.
"Every Kazakhstani can feel the development of the fourth industrial revolution. Today already fantastic ideas are becoming reality. These are unmanned vehicles, unmanned harvesters that work without a combiner, smart houses, artificial intelligence," he said.
Also, according to him, the satellites of the fourth industrial revolution are robotization, automation, digitalization, the Internet of Things, the creation of new composite materials. Mechanical engineering should be a trend.
"Especially in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution, technological modernization of our economy, including engineering, production of competitive products, increase of labor productivity, introduction of new additive technologies is important for us. All this will be discussed extensively at the Forum of Machine Builders," Pshembayev said.
At the same time, he noted that engineering is exactly the industry, when creating even one workplace, in adjacent industries there are up to ten jobs, thereby increasing the competence of personnel, increasing the production of complex equipment and also the orientation toward exports.
Within the framework of the forum, memorandums will be signed on the establishment of joint ventures, the transfer of technology jointly with foreign partners. Participants will also develop practical recommendations for the further development of domestic engineering, increasing competitiveness and building value chains in the world.
One of the forum’s key features is that within its framework, a draft Comprehensive Development Plan for the Machinery Industry of Kazakhstan for 2019-2030 will be presented, which will become a strategic vision for the medium-term industrial development.
The purpose of the Comprehensive Plan is to increase the competitiveness of domestic engineering, to provide the domestic market with products manufactured in Kazakhstan, to raise the level of exports. The integrated plan provides for the transition to a new qualitative level — the revival of basic production. In terms of supporting the plan, non-financial, financial, including fiscal support measures are provided. At the same time, it is also expected that, in return for support, the business will undertake to achieve certain indicators. Machine-building enterprises that intend to succeed, increase efficiency, invest in technical renewal, produce competitive products and win global markets will be provided with comprehensive assistance.
