Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojaev called industrialization a strategic priority for the republic.

“For Uzbekistan, industrialization is a strategic priority,” he stated at the plenary session “Technology Hubs—The New Industrial Landscape of Eurasia” as part of the international industrial exhibition “Innoprom. Central Asia.”

The Deputy Prime Minister identified several key areas that could drive an industrial breakthrough not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire region. Tashkent views mechanical engineering “as a foundational sector for fostering broad industrial cooperation.”

“We are talking about the automotive industry, agricultural and specialized machinery, and electrical equipment,” he explained.

Khodjaev also highlighted the chemical and petrochemical industries, the energy sector, and next-generation industries.

"I would like to specifically mention the digitalization of industry. <...> We also see great potential in the textile industry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and electric mobility," Khodjaev added.

In all these areas, Uzbekistan is open to joint initiatives, technology transfer, and the launch of new production facilities, the deputy prime minister stated.
