Stadler railcars successfully pass climate tests in northern Kazakhstan

Passenger railcars manufactured at the Stadler Kazakhstan LLP plant in Astana have completed a test run in northern Kazakhstan, during which the heating system and air circulation speed were tested. Stadler carriages successfully passed climate tests: a comfortable temperature of +22°C was maintained inside at an outside temperature of -10°C and below.

Each compartment in the new Stadler carriages is equipped with a modern control panel that allows passengers to independently adjust the temperature and lighting, as well as call the conductor at the touch of a button if necessary.

It should be noted that the design solutions allow the cars to be operated in a wide range of temperatures, from –50 °C to +45 °C. To this end, additional thermal insulation has been provided for the body, high-power heating and air conditioning systems have been installed, as well as pre-start heating systems for diesel engines.

In September this year, certification of Stadler passenger cars for compliance with the requirements of the Customs Union's technical regulation TR CU 001/2011 began. The cars have already covered more than 10,000 kilometers in the southern and eastern regions of the country, confirming the reliability of the braking system, running characteristics, and key safety elements.

The first domestically manufactured carriages will be delivered to Passenger Transport JSC in December this year. In addition, Stadler will provide maintenance services for the rolling stock for 20 years. The total order provides for the production of 557 carriages by 2030.
