The Senate hosted a meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development, and Entrepreneurship, chaired by Suindik Aldashev. At the meeting, the points of the protocol prepared following the roundtable in the city of Saran, Karaganda Region, where key issues regarding the development of the machine-building industry were discussed, were reviewed.
Before the discussion began, Suindik Aldashev noted that the protocol reflects business initiatives, proposals from industry associations, and the positions of government agencies, all of which require further practical elaboration.
“Our task is to ensure the substantive implementation of every point in the protocol. The results of the roundtable showed that there are systemic issues in the industry, and they must receive a timely response from the relevant authorities,” the senator emphasized.
The participants then moved on to reviewing proposals for legislative development, including the drafting of a law on social-entrepreneurial corporations. Special attention was given to issues regarding tax deductions for research and development work for small and medium-sized businesses, the financing conditions of the Industrial Development Fund, as well as the procurement of products from domestic machine builders by oil and gas companies.
“The changes to the procurement procedures for Kazakhstani goods adopted by the Ministry of Energy are already creating additional incentives for domestic manufacturers; however, further work is needed to implement these measures in practice. It is important for every government agency to state its official position and propose concrete solutions. This will allow us to move from discussion to results and ensure real support for the national machine-building industry,” noted Suindik Aldashev.
