In June 2026, the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry continued its systematic efforts to develop the industry, support domestic enterprises, interact with government agencies, and implement initiatives aimed at stimulating manufacturing activity and expanding cooperation.
KEY EVENTS OF THE MONTH
June 23
An online meeting of the Board of Directors of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry was held, during which the Board reviewed the Association’s Audit Commission’s report for 2025, the results of the Association’s activities, and preparations for the upcoming General Meeting of Members. Following the meeting, the Board members took note of the materials presented and supported submitting the relevant issues for consideration at the General Meeting of the Association’s members, which will take place on July 2, 2026.

A meeting of the Committee on Machine Building and Metalworking of the Presidium of the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held, chaired by Yerkhanat Makanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry.
Participants reviewed the results of the 13th Forum of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Machinery Fair 2026, the implementation of the National Project “Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors,” as well as issues related to the involvement of domestic manufacturers in projects within the nuclear industry.
WORK WITH REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES
In June, four online meetings were held with regional representatives, during which the following issues were discussed:
1. Issues related to the inclusion of goods in the AGSK-3 List as part of the National Project “Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors.”
2. The implementation of the System for Confirming Expected Delivery of Goods (SPOT) for products imported by road from EAEU countries.
3. Improving the efficiency of production processes at industry enterprises through the digitization of accounting records.
4. Export Acceleration Program.
5. Presentation of the activities of Excellence CENV LLP, BNK GROUP LLP, Experience Design Bureau LLP, and LNS.
6. Information on the work carried out by the Association.
WORK WITH GOVERNMENT, QUASI-GOVERNMENT, AND OTHER BODIES
1. On June 24, 2026, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed amendments to the law on the development of the machine-building industry. The document will improve legislation in the field of mechanical engineering by enhancing the industry’s investment attractiveness and export potential. The law also aims to improve technological processes and increase domestic value added. The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry participated in the discussion and development of proposals during the review of the draft law.
2. Work continued on improving the operational mechanisms of the Register of Kazakhstani Manufacturers within the framework of the Sectoral Commission on Mechanical Engineering, with the aim of creating a tool that is as transparent and user-friendly as possible for domestic manufacturers.
3. Joint work is underway with the OTP and the Ministry of Railways of Kazakhstan to assign AGSK-3 codes within the framework of the Register of Kazakhstani Goods Producers for participation in the MEX National Project.
4. Work continues as part of the project office on the automation of economic sectors under the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The project office includes a member of the AKMI Board of Directors, V. Turekhanov, President of the “Kazakhstan Association of Automation and Robotics,” and A. Galimov, Deputy Director of the AKMI Executive Directorate.
5. Working meetings were held with representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan to discuss the inclusion in the state budget of enterprise costs associated with the implementation of dual education.
6. Work continues with government agencies to implement the recommendations developed following the 12th and 13th Forums of Machine Builders of Kazakhstan.
INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
On June 10, an international roundtable titled “Development of the Central Asian Market: Kazakhstan” was held in Astana, bringing together representatives of machine-building companies from Kazakhstan, Germany, Switzerland, and South Korea, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, the diplomatic corps, and the business community.
The event was attended by Talgat Bazarbekov, Director of the Executive Directorate of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry, and his deputy, Arman Galimov.
The event served as a platform for discussing the prospects for industrial cooperation, production localization, technology transfer, and the development of cooperation between Kazakhstani and foreign enterprises.
