The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its nineteenth online meeting of 2026, attended by regional representatives and machine-building enterprises.
During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of the MEX project, aimed at developing production cooperation between domestic enterprises and increasing the share of domestic value. As noted by Makhambet Mendigaliev, Deputy Director of the Union’s Executive Directorate, work is underway within the project to establish production chains: negotiations between enterprises have been organized, and initial data on types of raw materials and products has been submitted, which can be used for further collaboration.
Igor Murzin, Technology Director at Railcast Systems LLP, presented the production capabilities of the company, which is part of the RWS KZ group of companies—one of Kazakhstan’s largest railway engineering clusters, specializing in the production of rolling stock and track superstructure components.
The company is located in Ekibastuz and specializes in the production of products for the railway engineering industry. Its product range includes locomotive wheel flanges, rings, gear wheel blanks for traction rolling stock, wheel centers, locomotive and car axles, as well as forged products for industrial use.
The production process is managed using the Track&Trace automated planning and control system, which ensures product traceability and the efficiency of production processes.
The plant’s annual production capacity includes the manufacture of up to 88,000 rough wheel rims for locomotives, 25,000 gear wheel blanks, 9,400 wheel centers, 36,000 locomotive and railcar axles, as well as products for tool manufacturing.
The meeting participants noted that the development of domestic cooperation and the launch of new production facilities are essential for strengthening Kazakhstan’s industrial potential, reducing import dependence, and expanding the participation of domestic enterprises in major infrastructure and industrial projects.
