QazTehna: Confirming leadership and integration into Kazakhstan's new digital industrial ecosystem

For the domestic machine-building industry, 2025 has been a period of qualitative transformation.

As the country transitions to new accounting standards for manufacturers, the QazTehna plant (Saran) has once again confirmed its status as a key player in the industry, becoming one of the first participants in the updated Register of Commodity Producers.

At the forefront of transparency: transition to the register of Kazakhstani commodity producers

The main trend of the year in Kazakhstan's industrial policy was the launch of a unified register of commodity producers based on the e-ondiris.gov.kz platform. This system is designed to automate state support measures and identify genuinely operating enterprises.

Thanks to its valid industrial certificate and compliance with all localization criteria, the QazTehna plant was automatically included in the new register. For partners and customers, this is an important signal: the enterprise has all the necessary capacities, a staff of specialists, and technological processes that have undergone rigorous verification. Being included in the register of Kazakhstani commodity producers de facto confirms QazTehna's status as a benchmark domestic manufacturer.

Operational efficiency and human capital

The results for 2025 demonstrated the plant's high adaptability to market needs. Over this period, more than 3,200 buses and commercial vehicles were produced. These figures were made possible by the maximum optimization of internal processes, which allowed for the efficient use of available resources. As a result, actual productivity significantly exceeded the plant's estimated production capacity, confirming the high potential of the technological site.

Behind these figures lies the work of a well-coordinated team – today, the company employs almost 900 highly qualified specialists. It is human capital that allows the plant to maintain high quality standards and rapidly increase production volumes without compromising technological precision.

Investing in the future: the path to deep localization

QazTehna continues to implement its long-term investment strategy. To date, 14 billion tenge has already been invested in production assets, and the total investment, including the second phase, will exceed 20 billion tenge.

Today, the plant already fully provides welding and painting cycles for car bodies. The next strategic step will be to master the stamping of body parts. The company is currently completing preparations for this stage: in a new 10,000 m² building, final preparations are underway for the launch of Kazakhstan's first hydraulic stamping press.

The raw material base is of particular importance: it is planned to use domestic 08KP galvanized steel, produced by the Qarmet metallurgical plant, for the production of body parts. This will create a full value chain within the country – from Kazakh rolled steel to a finished modern bus.

Entry into the Register of Kazakhstani Manufacturers and readiness to launch new technological cycles confirm that QazTehna is pursuing a course of deep industrialization. For the region and the country, this means not just an upgrade of the transport fleet, but the creation of a sustainable industrial base capable of solving tasks on a national scale.
