Production of auto components for the Kia Kazakhstan plant currently under construction will be localized in the Kostanay region. The project is being implemented by the Seoyon E-Hwa Kazakhstan joint venture, with a total investment of US$27 million. Production is scheduled to start in 2027.
This was announced during a meeting between Madiyar Sultanbek, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the JSC NC KAZAKH INVEST, and In Je Cho, CEO of Seoyon E-Hwa Kazakhstan.
The plant in Kostanay plans to produce door cards, seats, bumpers, consoles, headliners, and other interior and exterior car parts.
The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry notes that the implementation of this project will be an important step in the development of the domestic automotive industry and the formation of a full-fledged automotive cluster.
"The construction of the Kia plant and the localization of auto components in Kostanay will have a multiplier effect on the entire industry. New international suppliers are coming to the country, cooperation chains are expanding, and the level of localization is increasing. It is important for the Union that domestic enterprises and specialists participate in these processes as much as possible," said Talgat Bazarbekov, director of the executive directorate of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry.
The Association also noted that the implementation of the project will create new jobs, increase the competence of Kazakhstani manufacturers, and form the export potential of automotive products to countries in the region.
