A platform for submitting requests to use the resources of the national supercomputer Alem.Cloud has been launched

As part of the implementation of the President’s directives on large-scale digitalization, the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented Alem.Cloud — a platform for submitting applications to use the resources of the national supercomputer cluster. The Alem.Cloud supercomputer is ranked 86th on the TOP-500 list of the world’s most powerful systems, confirming its status as the region’s largest computing center.

Alem.Cloud resources are now available to legal entities, including government agencies, scientific and educational institutions, startups, private companies, and Astana Hub residents. The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development has developed resource allocation rules that take into account the strategic importance of projects and the objectives of national AI development.

Priority areas for supercomputer use include: public administration, education and healthcare, agriculture and water supply, the oil and gas industry, the mining and metallurgical complex and energy, geology and exploration, transportation and logistics, industry and construction, robotics and drones, cybersecurity, and financial technologies.

To submit an application via the platform, users must follow the link https://alem-cloud.nitec.kz/, select the number of resources (GPUs), CPUs, RAM, and SSD storage, specify the rental period, and describe the project. For this purpose, the platform provides a calculator that allows users to calculate the cost and generate a configuration summary required for the project. Each application is signed with a legal entity’s electronic digital signature (EDS).

The national supercomputer ensures stable and uninterrupted operation of computing resources. Services are available at around the clock, data is protected by backups, and SLA compliance guarantees high availability and predictable performance. This allows companies and organizations to confidently plan and implement their projects.

For reference:

The 86th place in the TOP-500 ranking confirms that Kazakhstan possesses a powerful scientific and technological infrastructure on a global scale and has great potential for developing its own AI models. This opens up opportunities for the country to conduct groundbreaking research, as well as to organize the export of digital services and technologies in the future.
