The Passenger Transportation JSC is implementing a large-scale program for the complete renovation of the passenger car fleet by 2030. An important role in this process belongs to the enterprises participating in the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry.
To date, a contract has been signed with Stadler Bussnang AG for the supply of 557 modern railcars. The wagons will be manufactured using Stadler technology and will arrive in Kazakhstan in the period from 2025 to 2030.
Of particular importance is the contribution of the domestic factory of ZIXTO LLP, which delivered 118 wagons in 2024 alone, and 56 more in the first seven months of 2025. In addition, work is underway to supply an additional 100 wagons by 2026.
All new trains are equipped with modern safety and comfort systems, including air conditioning. It is planned that by 2030 the average age of the passenger fleet will decrease to 13 years, which will significantly increase the level of service.
The cooperation of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy with the enterprises of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry confirms the high potential of domestic engineering and its integration into global production chains.
