Mechanical engineering – the profession of the future for young engineers

Today, mechanical engineering remains one of the key industries determining the industrial and defense potential of the country. The demand for qualified personnel remains consistently high: companies need engineers, designers, technologists, and skilled workers who are ready to create complex products and implement innovative solutions.

Petropavlovsk Heavy Machinery Plant JSC is a striking example of how experience and tradition combine with modern challenges. Dozens of mentors work here, passing on their knowledge to new generations of engineers. One of them is turner Yuri Ivanovich Nemikin, who has devoted 36 years to the plant.

Over the years, he has worked in various workshops, participating in the creation of defense products, meteorological rockets, railway tools, and many other products. He hones his skills on a 1M63 universal lathe and screw-cutting machine.

“It's very hard work. But the main thing is not to be afraid of work and to look confidently to the future,” says Yuri Ivanovich.

It is precisely this approach that forms the basis of the industrial power of enterprises and opens the way for young specialists. For novice engineers, PZTM and other factories in the industry become a school for professional growth: here you can master modern technologies, gain practical skills, and become part of large-scale projects—from civil industries to the defense complex.

The stories of people like Yuri Ivanovich inspire a new generation of engineers. After all, the main goal of mechanical engineering specialists is to contribute to the development of Kazakhstan's industrial potential and strengthen the country's economy.
