The Karaganda Foundry and Machine-Building Plant produces 13,000 tons of finished products per year. And it has no intention of stopping there. The plant focuses not only on production, but also on personnel. Our correspondent met with some of the plant's skilled workers.

This enterprise has its own melody. It is performed by an entire orchestra of different equipment. Here, a wide range of products is cut from solid metal.

Alexey Belyakin, process engineer at workshop No. 1 of the Karaganda Foundry and Machine-Building Plant:

"This workshop, together with the hydraulics workshop, forms a mechanical assembly plant. We manufacture shafts, gears, ball mills, buckets, as well as products for the oil sector and rockers. The entire plant produces 13,000 tons of products per year.

There are 70 new pieces of equipment in the first workshop. These are numerically controlled machines. The operator can remotely monitor the progress of the work.

Alexey Belyakin, process engineer at workshop No. 1 of the Karaganda Foundry and Machine-Building Plant:

“This modernization has enabled our workshop to produce much more. We have increased the range of products and improved the quality of the products we manufacture.”

Ivan Varinsky joined the Karaganda Foundry and Machine-Building Plant 25 years ago with a degree in engineering technology. During this time, he has retrained several times.

Ivan Varinsky, machine operator at the Karaganda Foundry and Machine-Building Plant:

"I have worked on virtually all of the computer-controlled machines that are here. So, I gradually moved from old equipment to new equipment. It is more demanding and does not forgive mistakes. In many ways, the equipment is more convenient. But sometimes it can suggest or show some errors during the adjustment process. On the one hand, it is easier.

Entire family dynasties have grown up at this plant, passing on knowledge and experience from generation to generation. After all, the enterprise opened 85 years ago. But even today, it is the largest machine-building plant in the country, part of the Kazakhmys corporation. The plant treats each order with precision and attention. The production line includes more than 12,000 items. It produces 13,000 tons of finished products per year.
