Kazakhstan’s auto industry summarizes results for the first seven months of 2025

Kazakhstan’s automotive industry continues to gain momentum. According to the National Statistics Bureau, in July 2025, domestic plants produced 11,765 vehicles worth a total of 164.9 billion tenge.

Compared to July of last year, this represents a 50.1% increase: at that time, 7,839 vehicles worth 100.9 billion tenge were assembled. From January through July, the country produced 83,259 units of vehicles, which is 16.7% more than the same period in 2024. The total value of production exceeded 1.16 trillion tenge, and the automotive industry’s share of the country’s overall machinery manufacturing reached 40.7%.

Main Production Sectors

Passenger cars remain the main driver of growth: 75,406 units were produced, which is 19% more than a year earlier. At the same time, the truck segment declined—only 4,091 vehicles (-10.5%). Bus production, on the other hand, increased by 5.5%, reaching 1,361 units. Additionally, 1,948 trailers and semi-trailers were assembled, and 453 units of special-purpose vehicles were produced.

Anar Makasheva, President of Kazakhstan’s Automobile Association (KAA), noted that the industry’s success is linked to the high qualifications of its specialists and the adoption of modern technologies.

“Every new vehicle is the result of the professionalism of thousands of employees. Two new production facilities will be launched in the near future, creating more than five thousand jobs and providing an additional boost to the development of related industries,” she emphasized.

According to data from the National Automobile Industry Association (NAIA), Kostanay (Allur) remains the leader in terms of volume — 45,756 vehicles (+6.9%). Almaty ranks second, where Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan and Hyundai Trans Almaty produced 31,245 vehicles (+41.8%).
