Kazakhstan strengthens its position in the European engineering market

A meeting between a Kazakh delegation led by Deputy Minister of Industry and Construction Olzhas Saparbekov and representatives of Deutsche Bahn AG took place in Berlin. The German side was led by Senior Vice President for Rolling Stock and Spare Parts Procurement Dr. Torsten Latz.

It is reported that the negotiations were organized with the support of DB Engineering & Consulting, whose interests were represented by Stefan Geisberger, Chief Operating Officer for International Business, and a regional team led by Ralf Michael Napel. Experts in procurement, engineering solutions, and industrial standards participated on both sides.

The main item on the agenda was a discussion of the potential of Kazakhstan's industry and the certification requirements necessary for domestic companies to obtain the status of accredited suppliers to Deutsche Bahn.

As noted by PromMashKomplekt LLP, Kazakhstan's production capacities, including in the field of railway engineering, capable of ensuring the production of products that meet European quality and safety standards, were presented.

As Deputy Minister Olzhas Saparbekov noted, Kazakhstan pays special attention to the development of export-oriented mechanical engineering, the modernization of production facilities, and the introduction of technologies that meet the requirements of international partners. In turn, representatives of Deutsche Bahn emphasized that the inclusion of Kazakh companies in the supply chain is possible subject to compliance with certification procedures, including comprehensive verification of technological processes, the quality of materials used, and pilot testing.

The parties expressed interest in long-term cooperation and noted that successful completion of the certification procedures would open up new opportunities for domestic enterprises to enter the European Union market.

"Following the meeting, two memoranda of cooperation were signed between PromMashKomplekt LLP and Railways Systems Holding LLP with DB Engineering & Consulting. The documents are aimed at developing partnerships, exchanging engineering expertise, and implementing joint projects that contribute to increasing the competitiveness of Kazakhstani products," the company said.

PromMashKomplekt is confident that the agreements reached will form the basis for further strengthening industrial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany and will serve as an important step in developing the export potential of the domestic machine-building industry.
