Kazakhstan Reports Growth in the Manufacturing Sector for the First Quarter of 2026

Yersayin Nagaspayev, Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke at a government meeting on “The Results of Socio-Economic Development for January–March 2026,” reporting on the successful performance of the country’s manufacturing and construction sectors.

As the minister reported, Kazakhstan’s manufacturing sector grew by 8.5% in the first quarter of 2026.

“Based on the results of the first quarter, positive dynamics are observed in the main sectors of the manufacturing industry, with an aggregate growth rate of 8.5%. Production in the machine-building sector grew by 21.9%, in the chemical industry by 2.4%, and in the light industry by 51.1%. Production of construction materials increased by 37.1%, and that of rubber and plastic products by 26.9%,” said Yersayin Nagaspayev.

At the same time, Yersayin Nagaspayev noted that, in accordance with the Head of State’s directives on the development of the manufacturing industry and the production and export of higher-value-added products, the Ministry of Industry and Construction will continue its efforts to ensure stable growth rates by launching new production facilities, increasing the level of localization, and actively stimulating investment activity in the country’s regions.

It should be noted that by the end of 2025, the manufacturing industry’s share of Kazakhstan’s GDP reached 12.7%.
