Issues regarding the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Austria were discussed at the Government

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar held a meeting with Peter Haubner, Second President of the National Council of the Austrian Federal Parliament, who arrived in Kazakhstan accompanied by a high-level delegation of Austrian business leaders.

The parties exchanged views on issues of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of further comprehensive development of Kazakh-Austrian relations in the political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The key role of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Agricultural, Environmental, Industrial, Technical, and Technological Cooperation and the Business Council in strengthening the trade and investment partnership between the two countries was noted.

In this context, R. Sklyar paid special attention to the prospects for deepening cooperation in the fields of energy, mechanical engineering, the agro-industrial complex, and infrastructure.

In turn, the Second President of the National Council of the Austrian Federal Parliament expressed interest in maintaining the high momentum of bilateral cooperation between Austria and Kazakhstan.

The First Deputy Prime Minister briefed the Austrian delegation on ongoing reforms, the expansion of cooperation with the European Union, specific steps to diversify the economy, and the provision of favorable conditions for attracting foreign investment and doing business in Kazakhstan. Emphasizing the high level of bilateral partnership and the successful track record of major Austrian companies in the Kazakhstani market, he called for further expansion of business activity between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.
