Industrial Safety and Production Growth: Yersayin Nagaspayev Visits Enterprises in East Kazakhstan Region

Yersayin Nagaspayev, Minister of Industry and Construction, visited the East Kazakhstan Region to familiarize himself with major industrial enterprises and the development of the construction sector.

At the facilities of KazZinc LLP, special attention was paid to industrial safety issues.

“It is necessary to take all measures aimed at modernizing production facilities and ensuring safe working conditions,” – emphasized Yersayin Nagaspayev.

The management of KazZinc LLP briefed the minister on the measures being taken to ensure stable operations and achieve planned targets. Development plans for the coming years and ongoing work to expand the raw material base were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the Altyntau-Kokshetau projects and the development of the Obruchevskoye and Novo-Lenigorskoye deposits.

At the Ulba Metallurgical Plant, Yersayin Nagaspayev familiarized himself with current operations and future plans for the production of fuel pellets made of uranium dioxide, beryllium, tantalum, and niobium. The plant operates a full production cycle — from processing ore concentrate to manufacturing finished products used in the nuclear, aerospace, electronics, and metallurgical industries.

At the Ust-Kamenogorsk Valve Plant site, the minister was briefed on the ongoing modernization work, and issues regarding increasing product sales volumes were discussed. The enterprise is one of the largest plants in the CIS producing oil and gas pipeline valves used in the transportation of oil and gas. Last year, the plant established cooperation with new customers, including KazTransOil JSC, Beineu-Shymkent Gas Pipeline LLP, Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP, and others.

Yersayin Nagaspayev also visited the Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium-Magnesium Plant — one of the world’s leading titanium producers. Kazakhstan’s share of the global titanium market currently stands at approximately 11%.

During a meeting with business representatives, Yersayin Nagaspayev highlighted the measures being taken by the Government to support domestic businesses, aimed at increasing the level of localization, production growth, and export potential.  Also, as part of his working trip, the minister inspected the progress of construction on the left bank of Ust-Kamenogorsk, where approximately 80 apartment buildings and new social facilities are being built. These include two schools with a capacity of 1,000 students, four kindergartens, a network of medical facilities, a Children’s Palace, sports facilities, and others. He inspected the construction of engineering infrastructure and the improvement of the Rowing Canal, where all conditions are being created for active leisure activities for city residents and tourists.

Following the trip, Yersayin Nagaspayev issued a series of instructions regarding the timely and high-quality completion of construction work and the implementation of industrial projects in the region.
