Factories in Northern Kazakhstan Increase Production

The North Kazakhstan Region is demonstrating steady industrial growth. In the first nine months of 2025, the volume of industrial production exceeded 615 billion tenge, which is 16.5% higher than a year earlier. This result placed the region second in Kazakhstan, reports Petropavlovsk.news.

According to the Akim of the region, Gauyez Nurmukhambetov, the main achievements were driven by the manufacturing industry, which accounts for 86% of total output. The sector grew by almost 20%, reaching 530 billion tenge.

Machinery and Food Production Lead the Growth

The key drivers of industrial growth are machinery manufacturing and food processing.

Leading enterprises include:

  • ZIKSTO LLP — 73.7 billion tenge, up 30%;
  • ST Assembly LLP — 62.6 billion tenge, up 26.5%;
  • Petropavlovsk Electrotechnical Plant — 10.3 billion tenge, up 30%;
  • Kirov Plant — 1.7 billion tenge, up 11%.

“The region’s industry is growing, but not all districts are keeping pace,” noted Gauyez Nurmukhambetov.

“In the Akzhar district, production volumes dropped to 54%, which affects the overall performance.”

Investment Is Rising — But Unevenly

In the first nine months, nearly 367 billion tenge of investments were attracted to the regional economy — 10% more than a year earlier.

The highest growth was recorded in Zhambyl (192%), Tayynsha (131.5%), Kyzylzhar (118.5%), and Aiyrtau (113%) districts.

Meanwhile, private investment in the Akkayin district decreased by 8.5%.

District Akim Zhanar Kusayin explained that by the end of the year, the district plans to attract another 10 billion tenge in investments, of which 6 billion will be private funds:

“The funds will be directed toward the reconstruction of a substation in the village of Smirnovo and the renewal of agricultural machinery,” said the district head.

“The main thing now is to maintain the investment momentum. Keep strict control over the purchase of equipment and machinery in every district,” instructed Nurmukhambetov.

Economy Expands, but No Time to Relax

According to the regional Department of Economy, the short-term economic indicator grew by 12.6%, placing the region 5th in Kazakhstan.

Growth is observed in nearly all sectors:

Industry — +16.5%;

Construction — +27%;

Agriculture — +10%;

Trade — +12%.

A slight decline of 0.8% was recorded only in the transportation and warehousing sector.

The Akim emphasized that by the end of the year, the regional economy should grow by at least 6.5%:

“Plans must be fulfilled. Every district must show positive dynamics,” stated the head of the region.
