An electronic procurement platform has been launched as part of the MEX National Project

A meeting of the Project Office for the implementation of the National Project “Modernization of the Utilities and Energy Sectors” was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev.

The electronic procurement platform meks.zakup.sk.kz was launched in November. All utility companies participating in the National Project are registered on the platform. Twenty-six companies have already submitted bids for 174 projects totaling approximately half a trillion tenge.

The demand for goods for 2026 has been determined, along with 680 potential EPC contractors and 172 domestic manufacturers ready to supply goods for the implementation of the National Project. The meeting also reviewed housing support measures for low-income citizens. This year, 9,600 families received compensation for a portion of their utility costs.

Kanat Bozumbayev instructed officials to simplify the mechanism for providing assistance and to better inform the public about existing government support measures.
