The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its 47th meeting with regional representatives

The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its 47th online meeting with regional representatives and industry partners. During the meeting, key issues related to the digitalization of industry and the participation of domestic enterprises in the implementation of major industrial projects were discussed.

During the meeting, Rustam Valiullin, Commercial Director of the PLM Ural Group of Companies, presented a report on the use of CAE (computer-aided engineering) as a key tool for improving the efficiency of industrial production.

PLM Ural Group is one of the leading IT companies in the engineering software market, operating since 1993. The company specializes in the implementation of integrated CAD/CAM/CAE/CAI/PDM/MES/QMS solutions that provide full product support at all stages of the life cycle.

The speaker noted that the company's main goal is to transfer advanced digital technologies to industrial enterprises. PLM Ural specialists are actively developing and implementing modern concepts of digital manufacturing, including digital twins, systems engineering, paperless design, and other elements of Industry 4.0.

Over the years, the company has helped enterprises achieve tangible results in improving the quality of their products by up to 10 times thanks to virtual testing. It has reduced design costs and time by developing more design options in a digital environment and increased profits by accelerating product launch by 2-3 times.

Also at the meeting, Ardak Arysapayev, Deputy Director for Polymerization of the Logistics Department at Silleno LLP, spoke about the implementation of one of the country's largest industrial projects – the construction of the first integrated gas chemical complex for the production of polyethylene (Phase II).

Silleno LLP is the project operator and a participant in the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark special economic zone, where the construction is taking place. The complex is being built in the Karabatan industrial zone in the Atyrau region.

The project is being implemented in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on the development of an oil and gas chemical cluster in the western region and is the largest project in the history of the country's manufacturing industry.

The project's production capacity is 1,250,000 tons of polyethylene per year and approximately 1.6 million tons of ethane per year. The project implementation period is 2022–2029.

The main goal of the project is to reduce Kazakhstan's dependence on imported polymer products, develop local production, and create high-tech jobs. The project creates the potential to increase exports of high-margin products, form a raw materials processing chain, develop small and medium-sized businesses through local procurement, and expand the capabilities of domestic engineering and service companies.

Participants noted the high significance of the projects presented for the development of machine building, industrial growth, digital transformation, and expansion of localization. The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry will continue to work to promote cooperation, develop innovation, and support domestic enterprises.
