The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its 45th meeting with regional representatives

The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its 45th online meeting with regional representatives and industry partners. During the meeting, technological solutions for enterprises were presented, and key issues in the development of the machine-building industry were discussed.

Mars Gayfullin, an engineer at ALEMTRADE LLP, presented the company's solutions in the field of machine building. ALEMTRADE has been operating in the market of Kazakhstan and the CIS countries for more than 15 years, providing the supply, commissioning, and maintenance of high-tech equipment.

During the meeting, Mars Gayfullin presented a wide range of machine tools, measuring equipment, and software from leading global brands, including CHIRON, INDEX TRAUB, Studer, Hexagon, Mahr, OPEN MIND, COMSOL, MSC Software, and other manufacturers. Solutions for surface treatment, 3D metal printing, and the service capabilities of the company's center in Almaty, which allows for rapid diagnostics, repair, calibration, and commissioning of equipment, were also presented.

Talgat Bazarbekov, Director of the Executive Directorate of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry, informed participants about the organization's current activities. He noted that the Association, together with the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is finalizing a package of proposals for a bill on support for machine building, which is currently being worked on by the chamber. The proposals cover issues such as supplying enterprises with raw materials, financing the industry, developing human resources, creating a National Industrial Information System, and increasing the investment attractiveness of the industry. The Association has also initiated amendments concerning increasing domestic value, adjusting the criteria for large enterprises, and resolving issues of raw material supply. It was noted that the Association's members have already formed a demand for Qarmet JSC products in the amount of 86 thousand tons.

On the international front, this week the Association is preparing to sign memoranda of cooperation with the Austrian Railway Industry Union and the Swiss Technology Industry Association Swissmem, which will open up additional opportunities for the exchange of experience and localization of technologies.

An important topic of the meeting was the discussion of risks associated with the planned replacement of industrial certificates and ST-KZ with the Register of Kazakhstani Goods Producers from January 1, 2026. Union members expressed concern about the lack of a transition period. This could lead to the inability to participate in public procurement, the risk of production lines being shut down, and employees being sent on forced leave without pay. In addition, representatives of enterprises noted that the launch of the National Product Catalog also raises questions, as a number of mechanisms for its application have not been fully worked out. Company representatives emphasized the need to introduce a transition period to ensure market stability and preserve jobs.

The Association also supports the introduction of a transition period until all procedures have been fully worked out to ensure the smooth operation of enterprises, preserve production chains, and prevent a decline in business activity in the industry.

The meetings of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry confirm the relevance of a comprehensive approach to the development of the industry – from the introduction of new technologies and modernization of equipment to strengthening cooperation within the Association and expanding international cooperation.
