The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its 43rd meeting with regional representatives

The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its 43rd online meeting with regional representatives and industry partners. During the meeting, current issues related to the localization of production and the promotion of domestic products in the domestic market were discussed.

Opening the meeting, Talgat Bazarbekov, Director of the Executive Directorate of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry, noted that one of the key areas for revitalizing the machine-building industry is to increase labor productivity through the introduction of industrial robotization.

"In recent years, Kazakhstan has seen an intensification of digitalization processes and the introduction of robotic systems. At the same time, the level of automation remains relatively low by international standards – the density of robotization in Kazakhstan at the end of 2024 was 9 industrial robots per 10,000 manufacturing employees. The main barriers remain the high cost of equipment and the shortage of qualified personnel in the field of robotics and automation," he stressed.

According to Talgat Bazarbekov, the introduction of robotic systems will ultimately lead to increased labor productivity, greater competitiveness for domestic industry, and a reduction in the labor shortage. Today, integrators are already appearing in Kazakhstan, pilot projects are being implemented, a regulatory and educational framework is being formed, and elements of artificial intelligence are being actively introduced.

Cooperation with Russian companies is also underway in this area. During the visit of the Sverdlovsk Region delegation to Astana from October 21 to 24 to discuss the development of trade and economic cooperation with Kazakhstan, an agreement was reached to hold a presentation by Nova Engineering LLC.

Continuing the theme, Ravil Mukhametov, head of the project office at Nova Engineering LLC, spoke about the use of industrial robots in the production of high-tech products.

Nova Engineering is a Russian IT integrator and software developer for industrial enterprises, with more than 10 years of experience in implementing projects in the field of industrial digitalization and engineering solutions. In 2022, the company opened a branch in Kazakhstan (Almaty) and is already implementing a number of projects at domestic enterprises, including Karlskrona, Nazarbayev University, SoftLine, ERG Service, KazTransOil, and others.

Ravil Mukhametov emphasized that the company's key competencies are in-depth engineering expertise, design for real production conditions, optimization of technological processes, and implementation of innovations with practical benefits.

Natalia Makridina, Development Director at Silumin-Vostok LLP, also spoke at the meeting, giving a presentation on the company and talking about its product range.

Silumin-Vostok, a production and engineering company located in Ust-Kamenogorsk, is one of Kazakhstan's leading enterprises in the field of industrial automation, power supply, and integrated engineering. The company cooperates with global equipment manufacturers such as Schneider Electric, SIEMENS, Rockwell Automation, Danfoss, and others, implementing turnkey projects from design and delivery to installation and maintenance.

A separate item on the agenda was the participation of Association members in major infrastructure and energy projects. Deputy Director of the Association's Executive Directorate Makhambet Mendigaliyev reported on a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Atomic Energy Vasily Lavrenov, during which the participation of domestic enterprises in the implementation of the project to build a nuclear power plant in the village of Ulken in the Almaty region was discussed.

“Design work on this project is currently underway. During the implementation of the project, a working group will be created, which will include representatives of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry and its members,” said Makhambet Mendigaliyev.

At the end of the meeting, participants expressed their readiness to expand cooperation with domestic and foreign partners, develop cooperation, and introduce modern technologies into production processes.
