The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its twenty-first online meeting of 2026, with regional representatives and machine-building enterprises in attendance.
One of the key items on the agenda was a discussion of domestic manufacturers’ participation in the implementation of the National Project “Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors” (MEKS). Participants addressed issues related to the application of product classifiers and the inclusion of goods in the relevant lists used in the implementation of the national project.
Talgat Bazarbekov, Director of the Executive Directorate of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry, noted that the implementation of the national project involves significant investment in the modernization of the country’s energy and utilities infrastructure, which opens up additional opportunities for domestic manufacturers.
Kairat Utemisov, Head of the Department of the Committee for Construction and Housing and Utilities at the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, briefed the meeting participants on ongoing efforts to improve the product classification system and bring it into line with international standards. According to him, work is currently underway to update approaches to the classification of goods and to improve the relevant mechanisms for interacting with market participants.
During the discussion, representatives of enterprises raised practical issues that arise when submitting applications for the implementation of modernization projects.
Following the discussion, the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry decided to consolidate the proposals and comments from the companies for further review in collaboration with the relevant government agencies. At the same time, a directory of domestic manufacturers interested in participating in MEKS projects will be compiled.
The meeting also featured a presentation by Excellence CENV LLP (RVE Steel), which specializes in the production of load-bearing profiled roofing sheets and next-generation sandwich panels, as well as the supply of roofing materials and the design and installation of roofing systems.
The company’s Technical Director, Vyacheslav Gaprindashvili, presented the company’s production capabilities, noting the use of modern technological equipment and engineering solutions that enable the production of products meeting high quality standards. The company carries out projects for industrial enterprises, logistics centers, shopping complexes, and production sites throughout Kazakhstan.
Among the company’s completed projects are the Astana Motors plant, the KIA plant in Kostanay, the localization center in Saran, and the logistics center in Astana, among others.
Meeting participants noted the importance of further developing industrial cooperation, expanding OTP’s participation in major infrastructure projects, and improving mechanisms for interaction between business and the government to achieve the country’s industrial development goals.
