The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its twenty-fourth online meeting of 2026, with the participation of regional representatives and companies in the industry.
One of the items on the agenda was ensuring comprehensive safety at enterprises and compliance with mandatory legal requirements in the areas of occupational safety, industrial safety, and fire safety.
Valery Kim, Director of the “Fire Safety and Occupational Safety Qualification Commission” LLP, presented to participants the capabilities of the accredited center for training and certifying specialists. He discussed training programs on industrial safety, electrical safety, occupational safety, fire safety, civil defense, counterterrorism, and first aid.
Special attention was given to a comprehensive approach to ensuring workplace safety. In addition to training specialists, the company provides methodological and legal support, conducts risk assessments, develops internal regulations, and helps enterprises establish safety management systems in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Training is conducted both in person and online.
The second item on the agenda was a presentation by a new member of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry — Freightcar Components LLP.
The company’s director, Askhat Zhapashev, presented the production capabilities of the company, which specializes in the manufacture and repair of components for freight cars. The company has been operating in the market since 2010 and is a certified manufacturer of products for the railway industry that comply with technical regulations and international standards.
The company has its own production site equipped with the necessary machinery and measuring instruments, as well as a production facility with a total area of 2.6 hectares, including 2,800 square meters of production buildings. The company also has its own railway infrastructure, including a 445-meter-long access track and a 20-metric-ton gantry crane, which enables it to perform a full range of loading and unloading operations and ensure the secure storage of spare parts and railway equipment.
Meeting participants were briefed on the company’s main areas of activity, its production infrastructure, its multi-stage quality control system, and its digital system for product lifecycle tracking and traceability. Particular attention was paid to the development of in-house production, the expansion of the product range, and the implementation of solutions that promote import substitution in the railway engineering industry.
During the meeting, participants were also briefed on the work carried out by the AKMI over the past week. Specifically, a working meeting was held with the participation of Yerkhanat Makanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry; Makhambet Mendigaliev, Deputy Director of the Association’s Executive Directorate; and Talgat Alpyisbaev, Director of Karlscrona LC AB LLP Talgat Alpysbaev, a working meeting was held with the management of Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants LLP, which is the operator responsible for the preparation and construction of Kazakhstan’s first nuclear power plant.
During the meeting, the target localization rate for the project was confirmed at up to 30%. In addition, it was noted that following the conclusion of the EPC contract, the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry will receive detailed information regarding the equipment and materials required for the project’s implementation. The Association also proposed including representatives from member enterprises of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry in the commission responsible for selecting suppliers for the construction of the nuclear power plant.
Following the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of exchanging practical experience among enterprises, ensuring timely professional development for specialists, and fostering industrial cooperation as key factors in enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic machine-building industry.
