The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry held its fourth online meeting of 2026, attended by regional representatives, machine-building enterprises, and industry partners. The meeting focused on the digital transformation of industry and the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies and artificial intelligence into production processes.
Ainur Akhtanova, a representative of the Digital Transformation Directorate at JSC “Kazakhstan Center for Industry and Export ‘Qazindustry’”, delivered a presentation on this topic. She emphasized that digitalization is a strategic priority for the development of Kazakhstan’s economy and is directly linked to the objectives set by the Head of State.
“President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted in his address to the people of Kazakhstan that large-scale digitalization and the active implementation of artificial intelligence technologies must become the foundation for the modernization of the economy and all spheres of life,” said Ainur Akhtanova.
During the presentation, the results of Qazindustry’s work in the field of digitalization for 2025 were presented. As part of the development of recommendations for technological advancement, a technological survey of 180 enterprises was conducted, resulting in the preparation of 23 recommendations on digital transformation.
Particular attention was paid to the project to implement model digital factories (MDFs). Between 2018 and 2024, seven model digital factories were identified, and roadmaps were developed for 49 digital projects, of which 31 have been implemented, representing 63%. Additionally, four more enterprises were selected to participate in the project.
During the reporting period, 14 webinars on digital solutions were held, with over 240 enterprise representatives participating.
During the meeting, it was also explained that a model digital factory is an enterprise that implements digital technologies and Industry 4.0 solutions to increase labor productivity, reduce costs and defects, and enhance the safety and transparency of production processes. In 2026, seven enterprises are participating in the project.
Ainur Akhtanova noted that participation in the MDF project provides enterprises with technological, economic, and reputational advantages.
“Model digital factories gain access to the best IT solutions, support for implementing MES, ERP, IoT, and other technologies, as well as the opportunity to promote their successful experience at the national and industry levels,” the expert emphasized.
Following the online meeting, participants noted the relevance of the issues discussed and the practical significance of the digital transformation tools presented. The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry will continue its work to inform industry enterprises about the opportunities of digitalization and to facilitate the implementation of modern technological solutions.
