The Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry and Enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Region Discussed the Development of Industrial Cooperation

Representatives of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry – Executive Director Talgat Bazarbekov and Head of the Department for Regional Development and Certification Mikael Kuzmenko – took part in the business forum “Sverdlovsk Region – Republic of Kazakhstan: Ural Solutions for Kazakhstan’s Industry”, held on October 21 in Astana.

During the event, meetings were held with representatives of the Ministry of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Ministry of Industry and Science of the region, as well as with industrial companies such as UralAktiv, UralKran, UVM-Stal, Kamensk-Ural Metallurgical Plant, Hermes Ural, and others.

The Sverdlovsk Region is one of the largest industrial centers of Russia, specializing in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, and equipment manufacturing. Kazakhstan and the Ural region have long-standing partnerships based on industrial cooperation and mutual interest in developing technological potential.

The main topics of discussion included the development of industrial cooperation, exploration of new markets, and joint work in robotics, automation, and digitalization of production processes. The parties expressed readiness to cooperate within the framework of the national project “Modernization of the Energy and Utility Sectors”, aimed at fostering production integration between Kazakhstani and Russian enterprises.

Executive Director of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry Talgat Bazarbekov noted that Kazakhstan is actively moving toward automation and robotization of its industrial sectors.

“The density of robotization in Kazakhstan remains very low — only 9 industrial robots per 10,000 workers, while in developed countries this figure reaches several hundred. We see great potential for cooperation with Ural enterprises that have strong expertise in industrial automation and digital solutions,” emphasized Talgat Bazarbekov.

According to him, joint projects with Russian companies could become a driver of accelerated modernization. A vivid example of successful collaboration is the KAMAZ machinery plant, established jointly with Russian partners. Such projects strengthen the technological foundation, create new jobs, and stimulate the development of industrial cooperation.

Following the discussions, the parties expressed mutual interest in organizing online conferences on the platform of the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Kazakhstan, where Ural companies could present their enterprises and products, as well as discuss specific areas of collaboration.

The meeting became another important step toward strengthening production cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, aimed at raising the technological level and advancing innovation in the field of mechanical engineering.
