The 39th meeting with regional representatives was held at the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry

The 39th meeting of the Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry was held with the participation of regional representatives and industry partners.

The online session focused on key areas of industrial digitalization and environmental modernization.

Nauryzkhan Moldybayev, Director of the Department at JSC “Center for Electronic Finance” of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Daulet Utenov, Deputy Director of the Department for Digital Transformation and Product Labeling of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and Araylym Nurtaeva, Project Manager for the National Product Catalogue at LLP “Center for the Development of the Digital Economy”, presented updates on the implementation of the State Database “National Product Catalogue (NPC)”.

Speakers noted that today, multiple fragmented databases and catalogues are used across Kazakhstan — in public procurement, customs, e-invoicing, labeling, and statistics. This leads to data duplication, inconsistencies, and difficulties in tracking and accounting for goods, works, and services.

The creation of the National Product Catalogue aims to establish a unified data standard and ensure end-to-end product identification using unique GTIN/NTIN codes across key processes such as trade, customs, and public procurement.

Starting January 1, 2026, product registration in the catalogue will become mandatory for all manufacturers and importers. The corresponding law has already been signed, and a roadmap for implementation has been developed.

The system will be integrated with key state and commercial platforms, enabling businesses to automatically update product cards, participate in procurement, and receive government support.

In addition to digitalization, significant attention was given to environmental sustainability and the introduction of Best Available Techniques (BAT).

Aiman Yesekina, Director of the Department of Green Technologies at NAC “International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects”, and Aibek Kadyrbay, Senior Manager of the BAT Reference Department, presented information on Kazakhstan’s transition to the principles of Best Available Techniques.

The implementation of BAT will allow enterprises to reduce emissions, increase energy efficiency, modernize production processes, and become exempt from environmental emission payments.

To date, more than 100 comprehensive technological audits have been conducted at major industrial enterprises across the country.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of joint efforts by the government, business, and the scientific community to enhance the competitiveness of Kazakhstan’s mechanical engineering sector, develop innovation, and build a sustainable industrial ecosystem in the country.
