Four regions of Kazakhstan generate 52% of all machine-building production in Kazakhstan: Karaganda region 16.4%, Almaty 12.5%, East Kazakhstan 12.3% and Kostanay region 10.9%. The said regions of Kazakhstan produce more than half of the machinery products in connection with the large concentration of the largest machine-building enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the territories of these regions. Historical conditionality, the availability of personnel and technical competencies, as well as the proximity to the market for their products, have caused the concentration of engineering enterprises in these areas.
